The Southern Oregon Chapter was founded in 1976. It is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the railroad history of Southern Oregon. The Chapter was directly responsible for the initiation and early development of the Medford Railroad Park and continues as a partner in the management of the park in cooperation with the Southern Oregon Live Steamers, the Rogue Valley Model Railroad Club, Southern Oregon Large Scale Trains, the Morse Telegraphy Club, and the City of Medford.

The Rogue Valley Model Railroad Club is located at the Railroad Park in Medford, OR. Originally the club featured a portable, modular layout seen at shows from Dunsmuir CA to Eugene, Medford and Klamath Falls, OR. Since 2003 we've been at work on a permanent layout depicting the Pacific & Eastern Railroad between Medford and Klamath Falls.

Medford Garden Railroaders, formally SOLST ~ Southwest Oregon Large Scale Trains has been a club in Medford since 1990. The club is organized to promote the enjoyment of these large scale model trains, both indoors and outdoors. This is truly a family hobby. The club currently has 3 different layouts: the outdoor one you can see at the Medford Railroad Park, Medford, Or., an indoor layout for club members only, and a traveling modular layout which we take to shows.

The Houston Area Live Steamers is devoted to live steam modeling: from locomotives, to stationary engines, to tractors and boats, with a particular emphasis on model trains large enough to ride. Our members own engines and trains in 1", 1-1/2", 2-1/2" and 3" scales and our dual gauge track serves both 4-3/4" and 7-1/2" gauges. A Gauge One track has been in operation for two years and is one of he largest Gauge One tracks in the area. Located near Houston Texas

The Klamath and Western Railroad Inc. provides train rides for the public on summer Saturdays from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend. Food and refreshments are available and so is plenty of fresh air. Lots of fun for kids of all ages, especially the young at heart. The Klamath & Western Railroad, Inc. is a registered 501 (C) 3 organization. Contributions may be tax deductible. Your support is welcomed and appreciated. Just a short ride north from Klamath Falls on Highway 97. Turn left at South Chiloquin Road (in beautiful Chiloquin), go about 1/2 mile and look to your left. Plenty of free parking, with a large picnic area, lot's of trees and plenty of fresh air. Call 541-783-3177 for more information and to make reservations for birthday parties or whatever.

The Adobe Mountain Desert Railroad Park, located in Phoenix, Arizona at 23280 N. 43rd Avenue (just south of Pinnacle Peak Road) is home to the Maricopa Live Steamers, Arizona Model Railroading Society, Arizona Garden Railway Society, and the Sahuaro Central Railroad Heritage Preservation Society.

Private Train Layouts
The BC&S is a private, 7.5 inch gauge railroad devoted to having fun with riding scale trains. We are located 40 miles southeast of Kansas City, about midway between Lees Summit, Mo. and Harrisonville, Mo. We have a monthly run day the fourth Saturday of each month and persons involved in the live steam railroading hobby are welcome to come and run with us. If you live within an hour's drive of the railroad and want to operate with us, we ask that you participate as much as possible in our work days (Saturdays from April through November, weather permitting). If you have not operated with us previously, we ask that you please contact us by email before coming for the first time.
